[bUG] Opening a note in a new window changes its Updated Date

 

 

Steps to reproduce:

1. If open, quit the Evernote app.
2. Reopen the Evernote app.
3. Open a note in a new window (alt+cmd+N).
4. The note's updated date changes to the current date.

 

Even worse, it also happens when using spotlight:

1. If open, quit the Evernote app.
2. Reopen the Evernote app.
3. Search for a note in Spotlight.
4. Press the Enter key to open the note.
5. The note's updated date changes to the current date.

 

Weirdly enough, for this bug to occur again, you have to quit and relaunch Evernote.

 

I rely on created dates and updated dates to know what notes I need to review and work on, so this is pretty inconvenient.

 

Should I open a support ticket?

Thanks for posting this. Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce it.

The first problem I see is that option-cmd-N doesn't open a note in a new window, it opens a new Main window. Have you redefined the keyboard shortcut?

If, in step 3, I select Note->Open Note in Separate Window, the updated date is not changed.

Is there any other info you can give me to help me figure out how to reproduce this? What OS are you on? What version of Evernote? AppStore or direct download?

I was similarly unable to reproduce the spotlight issue.

You're right about the keyboard shortcut. I was confusing the two options.
