(Archived) File not found error when creating note shortcut on Windows 7

When  I try to add a note as a shortcut on the desktop , I get the error "file not found".

 

I follow this simple procedure:

• right click on the note
• click Copy Note Link
• right click on Desktop
• create shortcut
• I paste the link

 

I get the error "file not found" (see screenshot attached)

Sounds like the evernote:// handler is not registered - you could try uninstalling and reinstalling to re-register it. You may need to be an admin, that looks like Win 7 in your screenshot. Remember to back up if you have any local (non-server) notes.
