It depends upon the permissions the owner has assigned to you.

Thanks for the reply. The owner has granted the modify notes privilege. Which one is needed to be able to create a note ?

You should be able to create new notes in that notebook then.

Ah, its OK I found the button. I could've sworn it wasn't there before

I think maybe I got confused across the iphone, ipad, web and mac versions of the interface.

Everything is set up correctly now.
