I have Evernote running in background on my Mac all the time. The Elephant head is on my menu bar. But none of the notes I input there are synced. I have to open the app and sync it manually, although it's set to sync automatically every 5 minutes.
Actually would be interesting and smart if evernote could sync instantly. Just hit enter and it's everywhere!
This is what happened exactly: I added some notes at home and went rushing to the office... when I arrived, the notes where not showing on my iphone. I left my computer at home turned on, with the elephant on the menu bar and everything set to be synced every 5 minutes.
