(Archived) Number on the web clipper icon

Recently started experiencing this issue on a few web pages. The web clipper is unable to load notebooks or tags for a particular clipping on the page. I clicked save and a number appeared on the evernote clipper icon. This number has now increased to 3 and I think there are exactly 3 savings that are missing from my evernote account.

So my question is what does this number exactly mean ? And why is evernote unable to load notebooks and tags for few pages ?

I am using Chrome version 26 on Mac OSX 10.6

Hi,

The number represents pending uploads. These clips have not made it through to the Evernote service and will not show up. This usually happens when there are some kind of connectivity issue and once Web Clipper can connect again the pending clips will upload.

Does this happen on specific URLs for you or is it on all URLs and types of clips?

I noticed you are on OSX 10.6 and that may be one reason for experiencing instability. We test and support 10.8.x & 10.7.5 Chrome stable & beta.

Hi,

I had this issue and had suspected that the yellow numeric icon was the number of pending articles. However, I was not clear until the explanation from jbignert.

Is there a web page that explains this situation, if not could you build one? Perhaps stating it on the evernote web clipper button may be really good (so people wont keep coming back to post this question).

Thanks

Clipping not being uploaded in Chrome - May 21 2013

Looks like I have 12 incomplete clippings because "12" in yellow overlays the Clipping icon.

Using Win 7-  64bit, Evernote 4.6.5.8200 and Chrome26.0.1410.64m

Any known reasons or solutions ?

Thanks

Same here. It started about a week ago.

OSX 10.8.3, Chrome 27.0.1453.93 (i tried to go back to an earlier version of Chrome - same symptoms). If Chrome is closed and reopened, the pending clippings are lost (ie counter disappears, resp. starts with 1 when i try to clip again).

No problem when clipping from Firefox. But since i use Chrome as by-default browser, this is most annoying. Solution to what looks like a trivial problem would be most welcome.

Hi,

We've pushed a new release with a fix to the issues from last week. 5.9.15 is the latest version where the fix is applied.

IMPORTANT: IF you installed any of the beta or diagnostic versions please remember to uninstall and then re-install from the Chrome Web Store or www.evernote.com/webclipper  to make sure you are on the release update channel and get future auto updates.

Thanks to all who have helped troubleshoot this issue and once again sorry for the inconvenience.
