(Archived) Taxonomies / folksonomies - Recommendations for Tags

Hi,

I'm always struggling to create the right tag hierarchy and have problems organizing information. Any recommendations on ways to classify information...do you start with something like the dewey decimal system?...I'm interested to get some best practices going on classifying information. I did spend a little time in information science so I don't want to recreate the wheel.
