(Archived) Sort by... Myself

Idea

It would be great if you had the option to arrange notes in whatever order you liked by dragging them to the desired position in the list

For example, you might want to temporarily drag a note to the top, because it is high priority

Being able to sort and group notes is a very natural thing to do

Any hope we might get option that someday?

While I would also like to manually reorder all my notes, I make the notes I'm currently working with into Reminders, which can be manually reordered. This is especially good on my Android phone and my Mac, but not so hot on the iPad where the Reminders are unfortunately a separate pop up window.

Hi. Welcome to the forums!

You'll find requests for "manual sort" options elsewhere on the forums dating back a couple of years (http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/15291-request-manual-sort-view-of-notes-in-a-notebook/). We might get it someday, but Evernote developers generally will not say if they are working on something, or when it will be ready. Currently, the Mac interface has the only manual arrangement possible on any client, and that is in the Shortcuts menu area in the top left of the sidebar.

It's pretty amazing to me that such a highly-touted program would have no way to simply dick and drag notes to reposition them as the user wishes.  So many programs offer this capability, I can't imagine that the Evernote engineers couldn't manage that very easily.  And what a great benefit it would be to their users.
