(Archived) Multiple attachments not displaying across clients

I've been seeing this issue for some time - but having just noticed that it happens with .jpgs as well as PDFs thought I'd look for some resolution. I can find lots of moaning about it, but no fix.

In essence - I often find that attaching multiple files to a note results in only one being visible, with no means of accessing the others (which are there undoubtedly - status bar will always show the correct number and I can save them all from the note)). This happens with all file types and regardless of how I've attached them (ie all at once through drag/drop, one at a time, via a later addition etc). I've seen this on the Win client at W7 and 8 and on my iPad and iPhone (via Clever and the execrable EN iPad client, which I never fire up because it's so dire). Synching the clients doesn't make any difference - I wonder if there's some rebuild db option that can be forced somewhere?

Does anyone have a fix for this? Because I am going to raise a support request if not.

Hi - I use an elderly version of Windows but haven't noticed anything like this.

If you're looking at your notes in a mobile client,  they're downloaded from the main server - unless they happen to be available in a local cache,  which might be your problem.  Try clearing the cache (via Evernote settings) and re-downloading the note to see if the full version reappears.

If you're talking about the same problem on a desktop client,  you do have a local database.  there's no way to reformat it other than to backup your files and uninstall Evernote,  then reinstall from scratch allowing the server to sync and rebuild the local database.  Search here for detailed advice on how to do this.

If neither of these steps fix your problem,  then a support request is definitely the next step.

Well, I've just raised a support ticket - because I see this problem persisting on this particular note across multiple clients and databases. I'm currently using the W8 client which has just synched the note down - and, again, the status bar shows 2 attachments but the note only displays one.

Interestingly, I have one iPad app that correctly shows - and allows you to access - both attachments in the note when you search for it - a cross-cloud search app called Cloudmagic (which is utterly stunning, if you're prepared to let yet another app have access to all your stuff). Nothing else does - including the EN iPad app and Clever.

And to close the loop...

"Thanks for the information report. I'm sorry for all of the troubles. We do have an existing bug filed for this issue with the engineering team. They are currently working on a fix for the issue. For their reference, I have attached your logs and screenshots to their bug case. I hope that we can get this solved soon, as I understand that it is frustrating. I'm sorry about that. Let me know if you have any questions."

Thanks for sharing this. I've been having exactly the same issue on Windows 7.
