(Archived) QuickNote shortcut not working on Mac after latest update

The QuickNote shortcut is probably my most often used feature, and it looks like it's not working in the most recent version of Evernote. The other global shortcut keys work, and even when I change the key combination for QuickNote, it doesn't work.

 

Is there a way to roll back to an older Evernote version until this gets sorted out? It's really cramping my workflow.

I actually just found a workaround, which was to use the "New Note Window" as the shortcut, which appears to do the same thing.

You have to keep the elephant in your menubar or quick note won't work.

 

I'm posting this just in case anyone else comes across this. In the old version of Evernote the "Quick Note" shortcut did what the "New Note Window" does now. After upgrading the "Quick Note" shortcut stopped working for me and I came to the same initial conclusion as stompeers—that I could just use the "New Note Window" shortcut instead as it seemed to do the same thing. However, in the new version the "Quick Note" shortcut actually is a whole lot better BUT the catch is that it won't work if you don't have "Show Elephant in Menubar" checked in "Preferences" > "General", which I didn't.
