I'm also an Android user with 1100 tags (sigh - long story..) but I can't create new tags in Android - don't think I ever have. That's a (Windows) desktop activity for me. Link to comment

I have an Android device (Kindle Fire), and I was able to create new tags. What method did you use? I was able to create a tag by adding it to a note (edit the note, click on the menu icon, Add Tags, type in the tag name, Done, Save the note) Link to comment
