(Archived) Missing Evernote menu/start/desktop icon

I was updating Evernote on my PC and something happened when it said it needed to restart my computer. When it re-started, there was no Evernote icon and when I looked under Start and All Programs, it says Windows is searching for Evernote - Missing Shortcut.

 

I thought I had lost all of my notes, but did find them at evernote.com  Now I need to know what to do to keep my notes and get my shortcuts back. Can someone help?  Thank you.

Using Windows make a shortcut to Evernote. Next place it here and the next time you boot up, Evernote will start up and run.

 

C:\Documents and Settings\{put your name here}\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Evernote.exe

I agree with David,  but if you find Evernote doesn't start I'd suggest you re-download the installation file and reinstall from scratch.  If you then log in with your existing user name and password you'll download (slowly) all the notes you see on Evernote.com.

Thank you both. --- I did a re-install and my notes have reappeared within Evernote. So I did not lose them and I am good to go (again)!
