(Archived) Disable/Adjust Autosave on Mac?

deejay1357

Idea

Evernote is auto-saving way too often for me, and there is no access to this setting in the UI, as explained here:

This forum topic explains how to change the setting in the Windows registry, but I'm on a Mac.

I opened /User/Library/Preferences/com.evernote.Evernote.plist to find the Mac equivalent of the Windows registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareEvernoteEvernoteNoteAutoSaveInterval - default = 30], but there's no mention at all of the AutoSaveInterval.

I imagine I might be able to add something like this:

<key>EvernoteNoteAutoSaveInterval</key>

<integer>30</integer>

but I need to know the correct sytax. Help?

Thanks,

Deejay

Just wondering if there's been any progress on this front, or if anyone new can offer any advice on reducing the frequency of Autosaves on the Mac. Is it possible to put in a feature request to have the Autosave interval adjustable in the Preferences?

Thanks,

Hi Jackolicious,

I'm definitely talking about Autosave and not Sync. Typing in Evernote is frustrating because every few words it autosaves and the cursor pauses and stumbles during the process. I'm on a MacBookPro with 4GB of RAM so I can't see it being my machine causing the lagginess.

I would much rather be responsible myself for regularly saving as Evernote used to allow, or at least have the autosave go only every 10 minutes or so, rather than every few seconds. I think this is overkill, and not having the ability to change it in the UI is frustrating.

Thanks,

Deejay
