khayes 3
1) Does Evernote on a Mac automatically save after entering text into a note, or after a period of time, OR do you have to go to file>save to save text or images added to a note?2) Is there an easy way to export everything from an account into a folder on my computer if at some in the future I want a complete backup of everything my account? Yes, it saves to your computer automatically, immediately, and constantly (as far as I can tell). You do not need to do anything.2) Is there an easy way to export everything from an account into a folder on my computer if at some in the future I want a complete backup of everything my account?Yes. Please see my signature below for a link to the manual. Wouldn't you know it? The manual says nothing about this crucial feature. Ugh. Select notes (all of them if you want), right-click, and select export. You can choose .enex or .html. On Windows, you have more options for these two formats as well as .mht. Link to comment
khayes 3
1. Does Everynote also synch automatically every so often or do you need to manually push the synch button?2. Are any special programs needed to open the .enex or .mht files after they are exported?Thank you for your responses. Link to comment

See your preferences for options to adjust the interval. I don't think any special programs are needed to look inside the files, but the easiest format to use would obviously be html, because it can be easily read by a browser. Link to comment
