(Archived) Evernote for Kindle Fire will not update

Am running Evernote 4.4.2 on Kindle Fire

I get a notification that an evernote update has been found. I click on the notification and am taken to Apps. There the Evernote Product Info comes up and there is an orange button which says "Open". It does not say "Download" or "Install", just "Open".

I click on Open, and evernote opens. But it does not upgrade. I click Settings - Check for updates and I get a notification that a new update is found. Evernote never upgrades.

How do I get Evernote to upgrade? Or, at a minimum, how do I get Enote to stop displaying the "new update found" message.
