asiajason 2
does Command-K help you? I never had good consistent results with auto-recognition with urls... so if it didn't recognize it, I would highlight the url, click Command-K, then paste again, the url in the box, hit ok, then it does it. Command-K is also good for hiding a url behind a word, so you don't have to see the actual ugly url. Link to comment
X_Burner 0
Command-K works but thats very circular...it cant be so difficult to regonize "http" within the pasted content. I already worked. So what happend? I want my ugly URLs back Link to comment

rdj999 31
This was a bug that will be fixed in our next version.I hope you'll also fix the bug that URLs with protocols other than http:/https: are not being accepted as link targets in Evernote notes (I'm running version 5.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.8.2.) This is related to -- but not the same as -- URLs entered as text being recognized and rendered as links. For example, I used to be able to create links in Notes with "file://localhost/..." to open files stored locally on my Mac. I was also able to create links to other applications on my iPad. (With this version of Evernote, when I use Link / Add... and enter anything that doesn't begin "http://..." or "https://...", the "OK" button doesn't become active.)I already reported this through Premium support and have been informed that your QA team is aware of this issue, but I wanted to let anyone else who happens upon this topic (as I did) to be aware of it as well. X_Burner 0
Now 5.0.5 is final but still now URL autoregocnition ( Any chance that it will be available soon??? X_Burner Link to comment
Level 5 Jackolicious 808 Posted January 28, 2013 Level 5 Share Posted January 28, 2013 We're working on it. It's a bit strange since you can copy-paste a URL from Chrome and it'll work fine. However, the same action from Safari will result in plain-text. Link to comment
GeorgeC 1
Please make sure you also fix the bug which makes links to local files (file://xxx) not working in Evernote 5.0.5 for Mac. I can use Cmd+K to add a link to file on my hard drive, Evernote will display it formatted as a link, but clicking on it does nothing. This used to work with pre-5 versions of Evernote! elgabo 0
Please allow other apps URL's like postbox (x-postbox-message://xxxxx) Link to comment
Bob Radstaak 0
Today I found out that the OK button for linking does become active when a link to a local file starts with file:/// So use three forward slashes instead of two Link to comment
Badge 8
I'm on Evernote Mac version 6.06 and the problem seems to have reappeared. Also doesn't autorecognize URLs when typed in manually, or in a form beginning with "www" (like www.address.com). And having the old problem again with file://. Don't believe any of this fail is the case with the Windows version. Link to comment
anson 0
I'm still seeing the same thing with Evernote 6.0.16. Copying the URL string from from Safari 8.0.7 on Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.4 will intermittently paste into a note as free text instead of a link. This happens 50+% of the time. While there's the cmd-K work around, this behavior is annoying. Link to comment
