enSprout 3
I have been using Windows 8 for a while and didn't have any issues until today - I accepted the latest update this morning and now syncing fails. Symptoms are similar to the ones described in this thread. i.e. activity log shows:08:10:22 [5204] 0% Authenticating user "[MYUSER]"08:11:22 [5204] 0% Can't send HTTP request, error: INTERNET_TIMEOUT08:11:22 [5204] 0% Session terminated abnormally, elapsed time: 59s08:11:22 [5204] 0% * 0s (0%) spent in EDAM RPC Link to comment
aashish108 11
Well, at least I know I am not mad!!! This made me try out OneNote, tch tch. (Its actually quite good). Nonetheless, I am still waiting for this problem to be resolved. BTW tech support has been useless for weeks now for me, its a dev issue...... Link to comment
LarryF 0
Same issue here with Windows 8. Tech support basically threw up their hands and said it was something to do with the OS but had no suggestions for a fix. I basically can't use Evernote on my laptop at this point. Link to comment
enSprout 3
I uninstalled the latest version and installed an older version (Evernote_4.5.8.7356). Syncing works fine now. Something broke in 4.6.0.7670. Link to comment

enSprout 3
I now have syncing working with the latest version of Evernote. Rather than allowing the automatic update to the new version, I uninstalled the old version, downloaded the new version and installed it. Link to comment
aashish108 11
FINALLY, its working! I bet it was a server end issue - nothing to do with me or the installation. However, I am now leaning towards OneNote, its just great Link to comment
aashish108 11
Actually I still have this issue on my desktop! No clue as to how to fix this... Link to comment

Cintra 5
I am surprised by how little information there is to be found on 'slow sync with Windows 8' to be found. I use Evernote on Macs, iOS, and Android devices with no sync problem. On a new Windows 8 PC Evernote is showing 700+ notes whereas I have 6000+. There is no sign of activity after pressing sync. I have de- and re-installed the latest version, and the results are as before. SignedFrustrated After more investigation there IS some activity, and my note count has slowly risen to 1000+.
