(Archived) lost evernote during install of new version

I was moving to a new (basic) version today when i inadvertently cancelled the installation (after it deleted the old version). Now, the program is gone from my PC. To get back to where i was, do i just install a new version from the internet? If yes, will it find the old db? I have windows 8 and had the current Evernote version. All other settings were default. Thanks for your time,

i sovled the problem simply by re-installing evernote. Voila. Thanks anyone who read this.
