bausk 2 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Hi,I made and published this Chrome Extension that clips PDFs from the browser to your Evernote account. This is a beta version so please report any errors.https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clip-pdf-to-evernote/eimkfmeckpmboaokmmgablhanbmpnmjf
whitepe 0 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I'm having trouble getting this to work. When I go to the chrome store and "add to chrome"...nothing happens. I would expect to see the icon added as an extension to my chrome toolbar. 99% sure this is user error but any help would be appreciated.
bausk 2 Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 Yes, It should work that way. Does it redirect you to the permissions page in Evernote? What kind of machine do you use? Is Chrome version up-to-date? Any popup windows blocked?I will post a .CRX file soon so that you can bypass the Chrome store part.
whitepe 0 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Turns out it wasn't just your extension. it happened to others i was trying to install. After a google search or two it seems that is a common problem. The answer seemed to be to uninstall and reinstall Chrome. After that it all worked fine. It does look like only the first page of pdf files are being clipped to Evernote. i will keep trying and report back.
bausk 2 Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 Whitepe,Try to look for the upper edge of the PDF, it should show the page selection dropdown. The extension treats PDF like a binary blob without discerning any pages. Please report if the problem persists.
bausk 2 Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Known issue with current app: you cannot clip files like mail attached PDFs that reside on private URLs. I hope to fix that by transferring the file content directly to the app backend.
