(Archived) Cancelling accounts but email problem "this email already in use"

I wanted to change emails but had mistakenly opened another account with the email I wanted to change to.

I have now deleted that NAMED account and tried to change my email address on my existing account to the other email but it is saying it is "already in use" even though I have closed the account!

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. Welcome to the forums.

It might take a few hours for the server to update. Just create a new email with Gmail (or some other service), use that for a while, and when the email address you want to use becomes available again, switch to it (using the Evernote Web interface). If you have problems at that point (the email is still unavailable), then you can contact customer support.

I think you'll need to submit a support ticket. (See my sig.) AFAIK, you can't "delete" your EN account but rather you can DEACTIVATE it. And deactivating it does not free up the email address.
