I have loaded evernote into my windows lap top with an aol account. My new smart phone has gmail account. Will the different accounts matter when I set up smart phone when I go to synk them?

Evernote does not sync from device to device. It syncs via the Evernote cloud. It has nothing (directly) to do with what email addresses you're using. You will need to use the same Evernote account on both computers/devices.
