(Archived) Evernote Beta and Apple Store

Hi,

This topic is probably already discussed somewhere but i can't find a post with all the information.

I'm new to the Mac world and i was really happy to see that there is a Mac App Store just like with iPhone to be able to have automatic updates and have everything at the same place. But it doesn't seem really nice on Mac ..

The problem is that i would like to test Beta version of Evernote and of course it is not available on the Mac App Store.

Is there a way to test this Beta even if i have installed Evernote from Mac App Store ? with my premium account ?

When the 5.0 is out, will it be available quickly on the Mac App Store or will i have to wait days or weeks to get it ?

It's not recommended to run both the App Store and direct download app on he same machine.

I think review time for the app store is pretty quick these days so it shouldn't be too long once they are ready to release.

And can i remove the App Store version and install the direct download one ?

will it remove all my settings ?

You can, note what Jack has said in the beta thread about local notebooks.

hmmm i imagine Evernote is saving some settings on the computer .. but maybe not ..

Ok, it was difficult but i managed to get an old Evernote to be able to update ... Really silly way ... Welcome to Mac world for me
