(Archived) Mac version can not past images

I've started to use Evertnote from my class as I want to prepare for getting a tablet. All my lectures use PowerPoint slides and I would like to copy and paste images from a powerpoint file to create my notes. However, everytime I try to paste nothing happens (command V). I couldn't find any solution to this problem online and this is a pretty important feature.

I am having difficulty using the "Paste to Evernote" function on my MacBook Pro since I upgraded to v. 5. Not only will it not paste images, but text seems to disappear from the note when I collapse it back to thumbnail size -- only the title remains. HELP! I use this function frequently to collect articles for a course I teach, and the semester still has a few weeks to run!
