I had to uninstall and reinstall en yesterday because of a synch issue. Then I had to move my database file and let it re-synch to my desktop from the web. SInce then every time I try to send an email from outlook or clip from the web, it asks for my pw, the un is autofilled but a login for every clip? I have searched high and low and inevery menu for a clipper stay logged in option. Somebody have an idea why this showed up?

Hi - sorry to hear about the problem; obviously something has come unglued somewhere. I don't follow the email query - which app is asking you for a password? And if you're sending an email why is the clipper involved? Best advice for the clipper though would be: uninstall it from your browser. Restart your computer. Reinstall the latest version of the clipper from Evernote's website. Try again..

unglued is a good term, I have already uninstalled, and re-installed the clipper from the FF and IE browsers. The email issue is when I am in Outlook 2010 and i rightclick on an email so I can do a "send to" EN, it opens up an EN login, it autofills my un but asks me for my EN pw, EVERY time i try to do a web clip or a send to from outlook.

OK what follows assumes you have backed up your desktop and your Evernote data file and know what you're doing around a Windows PC. If necessary bribe a geek to help you sort things out...

Try Revo uninstaller to get rid of all traces of the clipper files* and once you've uninstalled the add-on try repairing the Outlook installation (in my 2007 version that's under the help menu). There's also a free something called Glary Utilities which can sort out a variety of system issues - but read each screen very carefully when you download it, because the developers try very hard to persuade you to sign up for their pro version trial - and give you an adware search bar in the process. Apart from that it's good software. Just say 'no' in the appropriate places! If you're happy to run that, use the 'one click' option to check for a variety of problems -but UNtick the 'Tracks Eraser' option unless you understand it and choose to use it otherwise you'll lose existing passwords.

- And don't panic if Evernote tells you it's going to install itself when you start it up after you first use GU; there must be a token somewhere that tells EN it's installed, and GU tends to delete it after a scan. Evernote will briefly (re)install when you open it and then get on with life normally. The backups are just for your reassurance. Honest.

*Actually I'm not sure that Revo will find any files to uninstall from the browser clipper, but it's worth a try..
