(Archived) Images vs pdfs from livescribe

I use livescribe to send my handwritten notes to EN. I've found that EN can find words in an image of the livescribe note better than in a pdf. The success ratio (based on a limited test) is 4:1. Having said that, there are times when EN found the word in the pdf, but not in the image.

Going forward, I'll be converting my notes to images to send to EN.

I was wondering what other peoples experience is.
