(Archived) HELP: Can't sync on MacBook Pro

Idea

Hi all

My Evernote version is 3.1.1 (248775), Mac OS is 10.7.4.

I have issue about syncing.

  1. Launch the Evernote and start sync
  2. There are about 15MB note need to be synced.
  3. At the beginning of syncing, it worked well. I can see the downloading progress bar was going.
  4. After a while, there are about 5MB remaining. I wait for about half an hour, then I check the log. There are lots of "sync [ENSyncEngine] INFO: Server sent updated resource with guid 'XXXXX' in the log.
  5. I quit the Evernote and re-launch again.
  6. It started again. This time, it synced about 2MB, there are still about 3MB left. I check the log again, there are still lots of "sync [ENSyncEngine] INFO: Server sent updated resource with guid 'XXXXX' in the log.

Does anyone meet such issue? And how to resolve it?

Best Regards

Hi. Welcome to the forums! It is difficult to know today what the problem might be. You are probably better off waiting, because there is server maintenance going on. You can check on the status here.

I have meet this issue many times. Not only today. I have installed the Evernote in two Win7 machine, one Macbook Pro and one ipod touch. Win 7 and ipod touch works well. I use the same wireless network for both Macbook Pro and ipod touch. I can access the web evernote. I also can clip the web page by Chrome extension by clicking right button. The Firewall is off.

I've run into a similar problem for the first time today. There is no server maintenance going on at the moment. I'm able to sync without problem on my WinXP machine. However, syncing on my MacBook pro fails to complete - it takes a long time to complete calculating changes, then the actual sync basically crawls. The log looks pretty ugly, too (many "server did not provide reco data for the resource ... " messages, for example). This is new - what triggered was I was doing a lot of reorganizing of my almost 8000 message, including intentionally duping some notebooks, doing mass tag changes and such. I would love an easy way to blow away the Mac database and reconstruct it from the web data.

I'm going to let it run for the next several hours and see if it finally completes before I do something drastic.

Update: After several attempts, the sync finally "unstuck" itself and completed.
