(Archived) REQUEST: Save note history more often

DjBea

Idea

I like to see what changes have been made in notes. An changes log feature like in wikipedia or else... would be good.

Another feature : getting every old notes versions.

Premium users can view/restore previous versions of a note. But note history is taken only once ~every 8 hours. It's doubtful any more extensive history/logging of changes will be implemented any time soon, if ever.

If you want to do your own workaround, you could copy the note (available in Windows client - IDK if it's in Mac) and then modify the new copy of the note.

Just to turn it around a bit, fire off a copy of your note to your Archives notebook (or wherever), and just keep editing away on your current version.

Diffs between versions are a bit of a problem, there's always export to .ENEX and diff those files. :)

You can do that, too. But creating a copy of a note gives the new note a new creation/modification date. If you modify the new one, the old one retains that info, if you needed/wanted to keep an audit trail. IE, isolate the various versions of the note however you choose (notebook/tag/title match, etc.) then sort by creation date.

This is a checkbox on the Copy Note to Notebook dialog: [] Preserve created and updated dates

Don't know when it appeared, might be new for the latest beta/rc.

Ah, ha! Ok. :)
