simic 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Seems that edit note in 1.3 is broken.I created the note using iphone, saved then try to edit again. It complains that the note has formatting and can only be edited on PC.???
engberg 89 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks for letting us know about this. Does this happen with any text note you create on the iPhone, or was it just this one? What was in the note you created? Specifically, were there any URLs or email addresses in the note you typed? Thanks
simic 0 Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 nope, just a reguaar test note. aaaabbbcccno fancy stuff involved.Same thing happened when i synced a note from the osx client. I thought that the OSX client was injecting some formatting that the iphone client didnt like. But when i created a new note with the iphone, saved, then try to edit, the same thing happened. This didnt happen with the previous version.
engberg 89 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 If you type in a text note on the phone, it should be editable on the phone.Could you contact tech support and let them know which account you're using, and give them authorization to investigate the note in question to see why it isn't editable for you?http://www.evernote.com/about/contact/support/Thanks
engberg 89 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 We have confirmed a bug that will cause this problem in certain circumstances, and it will be fixed in the next service update (probably next Wednesday night). Thanks
dalton 0 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I am having this same problem, I am wondering if it was ever addressed? Thanks,Dalton
engberg 89 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Dalton -If you create a new text note on the iPhone, do you have problems editing that same note again on the phone?
dalton 0 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Yes, that is exactly the problem I have. I create a new note on iPhone, save it, and then go back to edit it later. (Without ever editing it on the desktop or web). I get the message that it contains formatting that can only be edited on the PC, but I can append new text.
iblastoff 0 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 i'm having the exact same issue. running 1.3 and without even touching the web/pc editing features, once i create a plain text note on the iphone, i can't edit it at all and can only append to the note due to the app telling me it contains formatting and such.
engberg 89 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 If you've created a text note from the iPhone, never edited it anywhere else, and you can't edit it on the phone, it would be good to provide the information about the note in question (e.g. title, date) to tech support so we can inspect the low-level encoding to see what's going on.Thanks
iblastoff 0 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 sent info to tech support over a week ago and didn't get a single response to this issue.
engberg 89 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I checked with Support, and it looks like you got a reply earlier today. Thanks for reporting the problem ... we reply to inquiries from Premium accounts within one business day, but occasionally get behind with inquiries from Free accounts. Thanks for your patience.
iblastoff 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 1.4 did not fix this issue. still can't edit a regular text note on the iphone.
