(Archived) HOWTO: Use PDFPen on docs already in Evernote?

I "get" how you can open a PDF in PDFPen, annotate, then export it to Evernote.

What I don't understand is how you annotate something that's already in an Evernote notebook.

In Andrew's blog post on July 29, 2010 (found here: http://blog.evernote...0/07/29/pdfpen/), he says "Once you have the scanned PDFs in Evernote, use PDFpen (Mac) or Nitro PDF (Windows) to sign and annotate."

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do that. Lots of info for working the other direction---from PDFPen to Evernote---but nothing about working from Evernote to PDFPen, then back into Evernote.

Hints, anyone....? Thanks in advance for your help.

If you right-click (Option+click) on a PDF in Evernote, you should see this menu, from which you should be able to select PDFPen (though I don't use that program, so I don't know how it works). You then open the PDF in PDFPen, make your changes, and just save it. The file will then be updated in Evernote. Does that work for you?

Does that work for you?

Sorry, peterfmartin--didin't see your response until after posting my own (note to self: refresh page before posting). Thanks for jumping in so quickly!

Never mind. After using Google to search for help, I tripped over this (oddly, from the forum here, but it didn't appear when I used forum search):

Go figure.

Glad I could help—and more glad you found the answer quickly yourself.

A separate issue that you hinted at above is how bad the forum search is. Your best bet to find things here is not to use the forum search, but instead to search Google for "site:discussion.evernote.com [keyword] [keyword]". It's unfortunate that we have to use Google for this, but at least it finds the results well.
