(Archived) BUG: Cannot find a keyword in a very long note

zdyx

Idea

Hi guys,

Evernote cannot find a keyword in a very long note.

For example, I have a note contains 2000 lines of text. When the keyword exists within the 1500 lines, Evernote can find it properly. But when the keyword goes beyond 1500 lines, let's say in the 1700th line, then Evernote cannot find it.

I tested Evernote for iPad, no problem.

Thanks.

Adam

I have the same problem.  Everywhere I've read says to use smaller notes.  However, I like using longer notes, and find it lame to have to revert to short notes.  Is premium any better at searching long notes?

Hi. Premium and Free users have essentially the same search capabilities (there are some limits related to PDFs and the like), so this should not be a factor. In fact, I have quite lengthy notes and have no trouble searching in them.

If the OP (zdyx) could provide us with a copy of the note (perhaps as a shared note) then we can test it out. Perhaps I am missing something and Evernote isn't catching what it should. This would be good to get sorted out.

I just added a ~65000 line text note to Evernote and searched for a word which only occurred once about 120 lines from the end. It was found instantly.

Can you tell us what versions of Evernote and MacOS you're using?

How are you searching?

Anything else that might help us reproduce this problem?
