(Archived) Every recent Mac release ate my DB

Just writing to say that the most recent 3 Evernote Mac releases (I am now on 3.0.6, Mac OS 10.6.8) have caused the "infinite syncing" problem, where the computer goes into 100% CPU load from evernote, for hours, and the activity window says "Syncing with Evernote"

The solution is to delete your local database (by moving or deleting ~/Library/Application Support/Evernote) and restarting Evernote, which will download everything from the server again and thus rebuild your DB.

It is not a huge deal since luckily everything is stored on the server. But it is a hassle. And a bug. And it keeps happening over multiple releases. Annoying.

BTW if you look at Help>Activity Log in these conditions, I have found you see a lot of these:

this has never been a problem for me. i would definitely suggest contacting evernote support for a solution.

Odd, will try to take a look at it. Seems like something peculiar is going on with your set, will try to reproduce here

Mhh it has been cooking my laptop for about 6 hours now (~6000 notes)

and all it does now (after loading some real data for quite a while) is:

I thought I'd had every possible upgrade problem but this one missed me. Definitely one for the tech support people. It shouldn't happen.
