(Archived) QUESTION: What documents will Evernote scan for searches?

Will Evernote search inside word files, pages files, excel numbers etc? For example if a word document attached to a note has the words I ate a fish and you search evernote for it, will it point to the note containing that word document?

Search does not work in other document types.

it's fundamentally an architectural flaw in EN. The search indexes should be built and updated server-side. This way, each client doesn't need extraction code.

If this were the case, it would be much easier to build this functionality.
