(Archived) Recommended scanner app for HP Officejet Pro L7680 All in One

Using Lion and an HP Officejet Pro L7680 All In One. I have no problem with the actual printer/scanner but absolutely HATE the HP provided scan/print application which I downloaded.

Is there another mac app somebody could recommend, especially one that works with EN? Scandrop?

Specifically, it has to actually be able to scan, not just manipulate images ala Docscanner.

oh, and it needs to be able to scan to JPEG. I do direct deposits with bank at home and that is the only format they take.

Any reason not to just use the Image Capture.app that comes with Lion? I have an HP all-in-one scanner myself, and I've not felt the need to get a third party app. It is possible to scan directly to Evernote (probably could scan directly to Scandrop as well) and in most common formats, including .jpeg (although only if you check the "Use Custom Size").

Honestly hadn't thought of that, I'll give it a try.

I did purchase Scandrop for Mac. Not too bad, a couple features I wish it had but much better than HP's app.
