yanggul 1
Hi,Because nobody want's to help I help myself. For our problem solution is in EvernoteSetup.log file. In mine I found following line:Located product {0ED78DCC-01A9-11E1-B2F1-1CC1DEF07CBE} with upgrade code {AE2C091E-CF5F-4e30-8659-D640E23A8B99}.Open regedit and search first 8 digits in reverse of the GUID for me it was E190C2EA.I found 2 keys in registry in HKCRInstallerUpgradeCodes and HKLUSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInstallerFolders exported them (for safety) and then delete. After this I've started Evernote instalation again and it worked.MichalThank you Michal... this worked to me, too. This worked for me as well! Thank you so so much! This is really working. I tried all kind of solutions suggested before. Nothing worked. But this solution did resolve the installation issue. thanks much!! Link to comment

b1lly 1
I'll post my answer to a private message i got with i guide of what i did to solve the problem for everybody: 1. download regular evernote from website2. run %temp% and delete everything in that folder (don't worry they are useless temporary files...some of them u won't be able to delete 'cause they are in use..it's ok)3. run normal installation of evernote..don't worry about the errors n' go ahead4. run %temp%5. U will find in temp files evernote.msi plus 2 other blank files of evernote...move the 3 files on desktop6. run evernote.msi from desktop n' voila'...nomore bootstrap error error...hope it works for everybody ps... prior to this i had uninstall completely evernote n' cleaned the registry but i would still get the bootstrap error without doing the things above cheers Link to comment
jimfred 0
I found a solution for this issue. Find the installation package for the version which is now installed on your computer. Install it again and then uninstall it.Successful!Good Luck! This worked for me to install 5.8.8. Link to comment
lrcrabtree 1
I ran into this as well - this tip: "E190C2EA" search and remove from registry Solved it! Thanks for that tip. This worked for me also. I tried several other steps first, so I'm not sure if this step alone would have worked, but in the end it did. Windows 7 OS. Link to comment
Knight 0
Quick fix:Try install Evernote, get fail message, close installer.Go to: C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\TempRun: Evernote.msi Link to comment
keruchan 12
Every time there is an update I "ALWAYS" find my self in this situation... I don't know maybe it is time for evernote to explain the hell out of it (it's probably not about evernote but the windows system). if so I guess they should asked Microsoft itself what the hell is wrong with them. LOL Link to comment
gmag11 0
Thank you!!! It solved the problem. Link to comment
CDMV Plus User 0
To avoid the run-around and 'just use Revo' answers from Evernote staff, the solution for most folks will just be re-adding your C:\windows\installer folder. Link to comment
techno2mahi 0
Download the same version(Can be found under help/about ) of evernote.exe. Install the same. Now you can upgrade or uninstall the same. Link to comment
