Evernote Clearly is a chrome extension that offers one click distraction free reading. In addition it turns any mutlipage article into a single page view and strips out any ads or navigation. When you're finished reading you can clip it directly into Evernote where you'll have a nice clean web clip that you can use.

I have used Evernote since 2009 to "clip" articles from the web to supplement course lectures. Clearly is great at removing the clutter and making the search function within Evernote that much easier. I use it much more for that purpose than for research.
