(Archived) How do I know if a picture has been OCR'ed or not?

Recommended Posts

I read about the intelligent text-scanning feature of Evernote.

So for free users of Evernote, it takes a couple of hours until a picture with text is processed by the Evernote servers.

But how do I know if it has happened or not. Is there an icon or something that will tell me if a picture has been scanned for text?

Depends on which client it is that you use...

In the windows client, there is a icon that turns green.

I don't think that there are any indicators in the other clients (except maybe mac - don't use it so I can't comment)

Ok cool, thanks Scott!

But, one more question: what if an image containing text has been scanned by the Evernote servers, but no intelligible text could be found in the picture?

Which one of those two icons you posted will show up?

Good question, I hadn't thought of that.

When you add an image to a note, the grey icon appears so I imagine that if it couldn't be OCR'd then it would stay grey.

What about this icon? The one with the two arrows?

That means that the note has changed and needs to be synced.

This should help identify any more icons: (something that resulted from another thread )

The ever confusing icons in the Evernote interface...
