(Archived) Evernote free account -60mb allowance problems - please help

My free Evernote hit a 60mb allowance, which I thought was a monthly limit. The usage menu item showed 2 days left in month then one day, then the usage tab reset to 30 days left in month, but still with the red usage bar showing uploads of 60mb, which is clearly wrong as I have not uploaded 60mb again. This means that I cannot post any new items to my Evernote, and get the dreaded 'Commit-Error' message. I'm worried. Is there some glitch preventing resetting the monthly account counter which has frozen my free Evernote? Or is the 60mb a lifetime limit? Or is this a clever ploy to make me go for paid premium Evernote. Help please.

Well I'll be darned. I'm logged in from my laptop at work

Yesterday Evernote usage statistics said:

"Monthly upload allowance: 60 MB

Current usage: 60. MB (100%)

Days left in cycle: 20"

(The current usage had been stuck on 60mb 100% since April 9, about 18 days ago)

Today it says

"Monthly upload allowance: 60 MB

Current usage: 5.1 MB (9%)

Days left in cycle: 19" - not 30 or 25 but 19. So the 'current usage' routine somehow reset itself.

I have no idea what happened but it's working again and I was able to post a note!!! After 18 days of the system rejecting email or direct clipping contributions !!!

Maybe the ether of shared focus on the problem.

Now I'm worried. I was considering paying $45 for premium for remote access on ipad but I'm wondering whether these somewhat unnerving issues crop up frequently.

Any input???

Well, I wouldn't have waited 18 days....

You can always open a support ticket at http://www.evernote.com/about/contact/support/#inquiry

Mmmm, I have a similar problem, and for the second time. I opened a support ticket and got the reply (basically) that the usage was not deducted until after the new cycle starts so the system is working just fine. Of course, that means that the usage report is useless, but what the hey ;-)

Has anyone discovered a REAL answer to this? It is apparently not a widespread problem, but if a handful of us are stumbling over it, month after month, release after release, there is SOMETHING going on that needs to be addressed.

As someone who has been a Premium subscriber for a long time now, I can safely say nothing like this has ever happened to me. Having said that, I couldn't tell you what happens when you hit the upper limit for Premium as I've never managed to get anywhere near it, despite fairly heavily use and uploading quite a lot of large files! It must take some pretty serious use to hit the maximum allowance under Premium :P

I've never had any serious glitches of any kind whilst using Evernote so don't have any qualms trusting it with my data or relying on it to always be available in one form or another (...although saying that seems like inviting fate!!).

I have no idea, but the 1gb limit for premium users is so high that I've never really had to worry about what the usage is set at.

I wouldn't let this dissuade you from going premium, though I can understand why you'd be frustrated as a free user if there's a bug they haven't tracked down.

That is really the problem. I'm concerned that the great folks at Evernote don't seem to know what is doing this. I'm also a bit dismayed that an Evernote support person would tell me that this is the way it is supposed to work.
