Minkster - suggestions that are popular on here generally are backed up by other users. Yours doesn't seem to be.

You never know Evernote may pick up on your suggestion, I hope they do - nothing would make me happier than knowing you are fulfilled and able to concentrate 100% on your vital notes.

First:I want to be called dr Minkowski, it is my pseudoname in honor of Herman Minkowski, physicist.

Not Minky or Pinky etc. And what is Metrodon ?

Second: I have asked how do you know what the majority wishes. Who are you to tell me that my suggestion will not be picked up by EN staff ? Where is the list of suggestions ? what is it EN wants to do next version ?

Kindly understand, if U polite, me also polite. If U arrogant, me also arrogant.

If U ridiculing me, me also ridiculing U. And if U shut up, me too shut up. That's the rules of the game here on Forum. Mr Metrodon....

Metrodon: why are you defending EN by all means ? what is your role with EN ? what "children" are you talking about ?

I asked many things, you did not answer. You did not admit anything Is there nothing with EN to be improved ?

By the way, I know a psychiatric whom I can recommend for you. Just between you and me: you do realize that you ar coockoo, don't you ? you need some help man... (or are you wom ?)

Minky - I think you'll find that I don't defend Evernote by 'all means'. In fact, in many cases I'm highly critical. For example, to my mind the current iOS app is completely broken and fairly useless. I've said this on this forum and in direct communications with Evernote staff.

But, and this is a big but and highly relevant to you - so I'll try and explain it slowly....

You have a use case that it seems is not shared by anyone on this forum (a forum that is filled with people asking for stuff and adding their rather annoying little '+1"s. So, maybe you need to accept that your use case is not going to be picked up by Evernote and move on.

Describing Evernote as '*****' is hardly likely to endear you to anyone here and amusingly ignorant and childish as I find you, even I am beginning to run out of patience with this conversation.

Minkowski,

this is generally a polite and civil exchange of ideas and questions about EN.

Please adjust your style. I understand your issue but that does not mean you should insult people.

"I know a psychiatric whom I can recommend for you".

This sentence is almost enough to get you banned from this forum.

No one is asking for a smaller area, but similarly I don't remember anyone except you asking for a larger note area. So, maybe you should treat yourself to a new etch-a-sketch?

I always keep coming back to the same question with you - you clearly don't like Evernote, but yet you still seem to want to use it?

If you want a full screen app that lets you only concentrate on what you are writing, well why don't you use one? Pages? Scrivener? There are loads.

Come on Minky, show some initiative, stop being so lazy, we believe you can do it, we believe in you...find another app. Come on, if not just for you - well think of the children...

To Metrodon:

I understand that I am the only fool, ignorant, childish and ill educated person who would dare criticizing EN for its screen area, and everybody else wishes a smaller area, indeed, much smaller.

And I will follow your advice to buy a larger screen, one with 32 inches, since my present screen is only 24 inches so that I will be able to use EN as to my liking.

I just wonder if there is a list of wishes from the majority and how do you know the wish of the majority.

Of course, I will to bow my head for the wish of the majority.

No, it's fine to criticise - but you must also realise that Evernote is a business that is there to make money for it's owners. Not being able to meet every request from every user is part of the grown up business world. Not being able to meet your specific requirement, which doesn't seem to be one that a lot of people share does not make Evernote '*****' - but you describing it that way makes you seem childish, ignorant and ill-educated.

Never mind, for pure comedy value I still adore you.

You may have to accept that your use case is not relevant to the overwhelming majority of Evernote users and so will not be catered for

There is no program or website that goes without criticism.

Is Metrodon unable to see any criticism in EN, then Metrodon is brain washed. Open your eyes Metrodon!

Perhaps he/she/it gets pay from EN ?

As for the overwhelming majority: My opinion is formed by my own convictions, not by the majority.

Is there nobody who dare criticizing ?

In your opinion - you seem to be the only person who is complaining about this.

You may have to accept that your use case is not relevant to the overwhelming majority of Evernote users and so will not be catered for.

Or you could just buy a bigger screen.

Or just find an application that works for you.

It's a shame you get confused when you use Evernote, but I'm sure it's not a unique experience for you.

The arrow U point at does the same thing as the Less Info button. This is EN design to make things look more complicated than they are. They give you lots of buttons and arrows and duplicates so you can get confused.

And I still maintain : this arrow or button does not collapse more than just the two menu lines Created and Click to Set Location. It is a very bad design.

Link to comment

To Metrodon

There is a button LESS INFO , just look at the image I have published. There is no arrow.

The Less Info button collapses only partly the information menus.

The Click to set URL menu is completely useless for me, but I cant collapse it

Although it's normally considered bad form to point out spelling errors on message boards, I'll make an exception...

Mink, for future reference, if you're going to go all drama queen on us, it's a bit more effective if you use proper spelling. Misspelling a word a gazillion times looks just plain goofy.

yeah sorry, it sorta is bad form. I do it in real life too though with grammar, so pardon my bad habits.

Actually, I posted that before I saw your comment. So it was really intended for me & the comment I was getting ready to post about the misspelling...

Mr Metrodon: I am presenting facts. No need for support. You are denying facts which means you still are back in your defending position i e mentally blocked. You will have to admit and say: you are right Minkowski, thank you for your viewpoints.

There must exist a list of criticism for all programs. No criticism = no development. That is dictatorship. Censorship. Very primitive mentallity. You seem to come from the bushes.

Link to comment

How about this image ? this is LIST VIEW. Here again, EN is stealing my screen area.

The ugly and stupid design is in collapsed mode, i e it is even much worse in expanded mode. Then it takes 30% of the screen area. Ugly ! not functional. Who is satisfied with this ? nobody, except Metrodon and some EN addicts.

Link to comment

minkowski, I'm sorry that the wording seems to be off. I'm happy to discuss it with our customer support team. What type of phrasing did you expect?

I don't think they are ridiculing you - they clearly say that they appreciate you sending you the information.

However, it's obviously not a bug - it's a design decision and I'm not sure that your opinion alone is enough to change their minds.

As I've said earlier in this thread - I'm sure full screen will be coming soon as it is now supported in Lion.

Link to comment

EN Support staff reply is as follows

We appreciate you taking the time to send us this error. We have filed an internal bug report with the QA team lead. She will classify and fix the bugs in the order determined by the project Lead.

Unfortunately this is not something I can fix for you at this time.

Now you folks,I have spent time to reveal errors and you ridicule me.

Why ? you should be gratefull.

Link to comment

Metrodon and Pmultani: I cant understand your agressive comments. Maybe you are EverNote addicts ?

if that is case, you are unable to see the naked truth . I am only trying to open your eyes wide.

I doubt it this has to do with the OS at all. It is the EN developers only, their complete discretion, how they want to make us users disappointed. because they love to make their users disappointed

I really look forward to your posts so much, they are the most entertaining on here.

You hate the product but keep using it.

I bet you hate bananas too, but eat 3 every day.

This is missunderstood by the community. It is not the staff phrasing I rebuking but rather the community in the Forum. I pointing out to them that staff is nice, but they (Forum folks) no nice people.

Link to comment

I would not spend time to install and test Maximizer. This is not the Mac way, but rather PC owners usage of programs: they keep on using lots of 3d party programs; and PC magazines are full of such proposals but it is a waist of time only.

Either is EN staff willing or not willing to give priority to this issue. It is up to them. No 3d party program thanks. If you start with that , you will end up using lots of 3d party programs for all kind of things. None-sense.

Are there any plans to implement a fullscreen mode in Evernote for Mac to coincide with the introduction of fullscreen workflows in the forthcoming OS X Lion? It's the sort of thing that would be very handy when working in Evernote, especially in smaller MacBook and MacBook Pro screens.

Cheers,

Maurice

That is quite annoying since that Note header takes some 10% of the screen area and I almost never use it.

I never use "click to set tag" or "click to set URL" which takes a whole bar. Is it really so important ?

Is this the same interface in both Windows and Mac ?

You really are a numpty - click the arrow next to where you have so eloquently described Evernote as '*****'.

That will give you some screen back.

Can't tell for sure from your screenshot....right click the toolbar and select small size.

  • Level 5*

Yes, that is fullscreen, in the same way that Apple Mail is full screen or Omnigraffle is full screen, or in fact any of the other apps I have seen.

Looks like your requirement is pretty specialised.

Dayum...I'm having a hard time keeping up with all this influx!

T-shirts - large. That way I can toss them in the dryer & they still fit my 'broad' (I'm a chicka) shoulders.

Action movie...??? Hmmm... I'll need to find something to wear for the red carpet opening night. Grauman's, I assume...

I have Lion but there is no full scrren mode for EN

And I think there will never be any change. The EN folks does not inform on coming upgradings or changes.

That's because they are stubborn skulls.

Fullscreen mode does exist, there are two arrows in the top right corner as pointed out by Metrodon

And stubborn skulls? Really??

Yes there is - click on the two arrows in the top right hand corner.

You do continue to be my favourite former - well done.

Additionally, minkowski backpeddles when called to task. He bad mouths EN & then when approached by an employee, says "oh, no, I meant the forum people." And when he was griping about how EN support is useless (his term) and requested to post claim ticket numbers, he refuses. Making negative broad brushed statements about a company without handing over some sort of proof of your claims is also "not nice." Some would even call it trollish.

Minkowski believes that the Evernote team do not care about it's users because his every wish is not implemented.

The good news for him is that most of wishes are pretty standard things that people would like ( such as full screen which I'm sure will come soon) and so they'll arrive eventually. However the concepts of priorities, limited manpower, multiple platforms etc do continue to elude our impatient friend.

The forum is full of different opinions. I will point out you said,

That's not so nice either. Let's all try to stay nice.

Also, rereading this thread, I want to point out you can hide the toolbar. It is the first option under the View menu. View>>Hide Toolbar

You can also hide the search explanation bar / favorites bar.
