bgkittrell 0
This is a very small thing, and I'm assuming non-trivial to solve. I use Evernote daily, mainly for keeping a log. For each day I create a new note, write out thoughts and make outlines to help me work through things. When I get to the bottom of the note the cursor is right at the bottom of the viewport. I'm afraid I can't say anything more helpful than, it's annoying and hard to look at. There's no way to pad it out so you always have some visual space a the bottom. Even if I hit return a couple of times, once I start typing and reach the bottom again I'm in the same situation.Off the cuff, I would suggest that if you're typing close to the end of the note, within three lines or so, scroll the viewport down as you type. That way I could put a few returns at the bottom and be fine. At any rate, it's a great product, and I'm glad I upgraded to premium. Link to comment
Level 5 jbenson2 2,149 Posted April 12, 2011 Level 5 Share Posted April 12, 2011 On the other side, there are folks who want Evernote to maximize every square inch of viewable work space. Inserting some additional white space for aesthetic purposes would drive them nuts.Agreed - it is a great product. Link to comment
BurgersNFries 2,407
Even if I hit return a couple of times, once I start typing and reach the bottom again I'm in the same situation. If you start entering before the manually added line feeds at the end & your insert/overwrite is set to insert, then it will always enter the data before the ending line feeds. You don't say which client you're using but that's the way it would work on the Windows client.I would not want EN to automatically add any linefeeds to my note. I wouldn't want Windows to do it b/c it's weird. (Sorry, but it is.) And I wouldn't want my iPhone to do it b/c it's weird and b/c I'm dealing with a smaller screen. I don't want trailing linefeeds that would push the top part of a note off the screen.EDIT: I couldn't create the situation you describe even with toggling the insert key. So I don't know what's up with that. But it does sound like you've got your keyboard in overwrite mode, if you're adding typing before the manually added line feeds. Link to comment
bgkittrell 0
I'm using the Mac Client, don't know if there's an insert mode for that. Honestly, I'd be happy if there was just a little bit of padding at the bottom of the viewport. The iPhone and iPad apps have that. I don't know how anyone can stand typing right at the bottom of the viewport. Just to clarify, I attached an image of what I'm talking about. The funny thing is, if you look at the scrollbar, there's actually just a bit more space at the bottom of the note, but it doesn't scroll all the way down when you return. Link to comment
