(Archived) Quick date shortcut

I'm a new Mac user after many years of a happy relationship with EN for Windows -- my 7,000 notes go back to 2004.

So -- is there an equivalent of the Ctrl-; shortcut to post the date and time quickly in a Mac note?

Not by default, I use an application called TextExpander that let's you set up shortcuts that you can then use in every application.

NP, I think it's a great app - saves me a whole bunch of time chasing my lazy developers who don't meet the completely unrealistic deadlines that I set for them
