(Archived) Combining two accounts into one

Recommended Posts

I have had two premium evernote accounts (one work and one personal) for about a year and decided that I was in need of combining them into one account. I found that I needed to do this rather than have all of the shared files (love the way that the mac version shares files, not so much the PC version). So, I set about to exporting and importing all of the notes from my work account to my personal account. There are now about 1100 notes in the one account.

The problem I encountered, which I should have thought of in advance, was the transfer process used up most of my download allotment. That has caused three problems:

1. I have several weeks left on my monthly allotment, so I will be limited in what I can do.

2. Several of my notebooks are local only because syncing them will exceed my allotment.

3. My work computer will not sync to the new online database.

My questions are:

1. Is there a way to move notes manually between local computer databases?

2. Is there a way to purchase more download space on a one time basis?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Tom

1. Is there a way to move notes manually between local computer databases?

If you want to move between two Windows clients, you can go to the computer that has the database that is 100% good. Find the location of the database (tools/options/general tab), copy that to a thumb drive & then paste that folder in the location of the other computer. Note that this entirely replaces the database on the target computer rather than integrate with it.

If you want to go between Windows & Mac, no way to do something similar to the above.

Or...you can continue to export/import. As long as you import into a local database (I know you can do this on the Windows client, don't know about Mac), then it will not go against your monthly upload limit.

No.

The monthly allotment is an UPLOAD limit...not a download limit. Downloading is unlimited.
