edhoover 0
When using the web clipper extension on Chrome, I've noticed that if I do anything else on my computer after I click "save" in the clipper, the box goes away and it effectively cancels the clip. Is this by design? Sometimes it takes a few seconds to clip a page, and it's a bit annoying not to be able to switch to another application while it completes in the background. Is there a way around this? engberg 89
I assume that you're on Chrome. If you click away from our pop-up window, that effectively dismisses our application without giving us any way to "clean up", so you need to press the Save button to save the clip. Link to comment

I'm using Evernote Clipper for Chrome on a Mac.My experience is (I'm sure it is the same for edhoover), even after I click the "save" button, the bubble will spin for some time, and if I do anything like clicking outside the bubble, or switching apps, the whole saving process will be aborted and I have to start over. I don't see how it is practical for me to wait for 15s just to save every article I want to clip.I have since moved to the firefox extension instead, but I wonder why these extensions and clippers can't just work the same way universally. Do you know if this is something I can fix on my end? Or if this is something Evernote crew is working to fix? Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,589 Posted February 21, 2011 Level 5* Share Posted February 21, 2011 As I understand it, it's a Chrome browser thing that extensions are dismissed when they lose focus; the other extensions that I use in Chrome do the same thing -- maybe that will change someday. Browser extensions / plug-ins / what-have-yous work differently because there are no standards for them. Under Chrome, at least for now, you'll just have to wait... Link to comment
