jester 0
I searched for this but did not find anything relevant, so I think it's not possible yet. After six years of using EN for free I just decided to go premium. Now I wonder whether it is possible to highlight text in scanned pages, imported as jpg graphics. If not, this would be really a great feature for me. Thanksjester Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted January 31, 2011 Level 5* Share Posted January 31, 2011 How do you propose to select the text in the image? Wouldn't a graphical editor be more likely to be what you're looking for?~Jeff Link to comment
jester 0
I would be content just to "draw" over the relevant text passages just as I would do in a book or magazine in real life. There's no way to "select" text either. Link to comment
lwilde 0
Jester, we don’t offer that ability at this time. You can pull out the note and edit it in a text editor. You may also see many different products in our Evernote Trunk that allow different options. Link to comment
jester 0
lwilde, yes, I know - however, this would be very useful. It is possible in OneNote. Ideally you could add new layers to notes just like in Photoshop and switch between layers to add highlights or underlinings or even handwritten annotations. jester Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted February 1, 2011 Level 5* Share Posted February 1, 2011 I believe that anything other than image resize / rotation is beyond the scope of what Evernote is planning on doing, at least short term, based on what I've read from Evernote staff in the forums (and you can't even do that currently, at least in the Windows client and others). Adding annotation / decoration / highlighting of recognized text / layering operations etc. is probably something that you're going to have to do in your favorite photo editor for the foreseeable future. ~Jeff Link to comment

I'm pretty sure that's not going to be added to Evernote any time soon (if at all.) Link to comment
jester 0
I see. Still, it would be nice and helpful! Link to comment
