TNBoro 0 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 From both Chrome and Safari I'm unable to drag/drop checkbox items or tasks. Is this a known issue? Screen Recording 2024-11-26 at 8.05.25 AM.mov
Mike P 3,073 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I can confirm the behaviour (Windows 10.117.1, haven't tried web). Tasks and checklist items in notes cannot be dragged to new positions within the note. Yet another thing that used to work fine which EN have broken with a recent update. EDIT - bullet point and numbered lists can also no longer be dragged into a different order.
Dave Green 279 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Confirm this behavior (or failure) exists in Mac 10.117.1 as well. 1
creid_22 0 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I just wanted to add that this behavior is also not available in the Windows desktop app. Is there any indication it is being worked on and can be fixed soon?
Jon/t 1,753 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 They know about this so hopeful a fix will come soon. 1 2
n9wox 2 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I drag & drop checkbox and bulleted items daily. The same problem started for me with the 10.117.1 update on Windows 10. Whatever happened to regression testing?
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,075 Posted November 27 Evernote Expert Posted November 27 The issue is known and a fix scheduled. 3
Jon/t 1,753 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 10.117.2 is out on the download page with a fix for this. 1 2
Mike P 3,073 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I'm obviously delighted that this is fixed. However I really don't understand why this gets priority when there are so many other bugs which get ignored, where things used to work and an update broke them.

It was a big one that affected a lot of people. There is some sort of priority based on how many reports and how many are affected. For example the issue with title sorting after a search is not something I hear folks mention much at all, I've never done this myself in 15 years of using Evernote so I would imagine this is lower on the list than the drag and drop bug which affected most elements of the editor including moving text around tables. They do have a list and try and prioritise on the what causes the most grief to the most people. It's not perfect but I don't think there is a perfect solution other than just plod along fixing stuff one by one.

Or perhaps a more robust system for not breaking things with each new release. It sometimes feels as if each release claims to fix things that don't personally effect me and breaks something that does. It's too early and I probably just need more coffee!

From reading between the lines there is a step up regarding QA going on. Cold and early lol.... -4 here and more coffee brewing! 1
PhillipKumin 0 Posted December 3 Posted December 3 I use a MACBook Pro with Sierra OS, I run the updated app, and I cannot drag or move checkbox tasks anymore.
