I would like to request the implementation of app-level authentication as an optional security feature for Evernote on macOS.
Currently, anyone with access to my unlocked Mac can open Evernote and view all my notes. This poses a potential security risk, especially in shared workspaces or if my laptop is left unattended.
Adding an authentication step upon launching the app would provide an extra layer of security and peace of mind. This would ensure that only authorized users can access my Evernote data.
Possible authentication methods could include:
Fingerprint authentication (Touch ID): Leveraging the built-in Touch ID sensor for quick and secure access.
Password protection: Requiring a separate password specifically for Evernote.
macOS login password: Prompting for the user's macOS login password when launching Evernote.
This feature should be optional and configurable in the app's settings, allowing users to choose their preferred authentication method or disable it entirely.
Thank you for considering this feature request. I believe it would be a valuable addition to Evernote, significantly enhancing its security and user experience on Mac.
