Note links pasted to other apps no longer work ("share.evernote.com")

There's something wrong with the new universal link formats that Evernote apps have been creating, which are generated and copied to the clipboard from the menu option "Copy note link" and have the format share.evernote.com/note/{note ID number}: they don't work in Android, period. That option is is what I've always used to copy a link to an Evernote note to paste into another app. It used to work: in the Android app, copying the note link would create an evernote.com link, which I could paste into an app and then click on it so that (sometimes after a stop in the browser to log in) the note would open in the Evernote Android app. The new share.evernote.com link format, when pasted into another app, will have different failures depending on the default browser:

  • If Chrome, the Evernote app will open, but with no note selected.
  • If DuckDuckGo, Opera, or the generic Samsung browser, the link will be converted to a link with the form evernote.com/client/web#/notes/... followed by the note ID. This produces a page with the familiar bouncing graphics and the declaration of Bending Spoons' love, but nothing further. (Sometimes the link is truncated to evernote.com/client/web/.)

This seriously cramps my use of Evernote on my phone. (It causes problems in other uses too, apparently; see this discussion thread.) I'm going to submit this as a bug, but I wonder if anyone else is experiencing it. I should add that I'm using the latest app v. 10.113.1 on a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

I have been experiencing the same issues; using Evernote web in Chrome for Windows. Each link opens Evernote, but it just goes to the top of the notes list instead of to the intended note. I use these links all the time, it seems like it just started happening this week. It also seems like the links that I created a few weeks ago still work as expected. I just noticed the issue happening this week. Haven't tried it on Android yet.

Here's a workaround: replace the share.evernote.com/note portion of the URL with www.evernote.com/shard/s316/nl/########, which is the older link style. This still works in Android and elsewhere.

I am experiencing the same bug. Thanks for opening a ticket. My workaround is to only use the in-app links you can get via the keyboard shortcut on windows. Thanks for your workaround, will try this as well.

PS. In this older link style, ######## stands for your Evernote account ID, I believe. You'll probably have to find a note that still has that older link style and retrieve the ID number from it to make this work.

Is this scheduled to be fixed. I have sent hundreds of notes to clients and now they are all "broken" links.

I've submitted a bug report, and gone through the usual generic steps, including reinstalling Evernote, so they should be working on it. No idea how long that could take, of course.

Note links of the said style also haven't been working for me lately, on iOS (v10.115.1) or Windows (v10.115.4). When I click them on either platform (iOS or Windows), it opens my default web browser to the "Notes" section (not even to the correct note), but it SHOULD launch the respective Evernote app (and open the linked note). I also submitted a bug report a couple days ago. This is a major problem for how I use Evernote, so hopefully it's fixed very soon.
