Submitted a ticket and attempted a re-install - still getting a white window. Also now unable to get the web version on my desktop, though my tablet and mobile still appear to be working....

Leaving the spinning arrow for a while to see what happens (if anything...)

Yep - 114.2 is completely unusable... I simply stopped EN10-114.2 and started my saved Evernote-10.113.5 installation image with no problem. EN works now as smooth and fast as yesterday. How the hell could 114.2 pass any QA? 😤 But BTW: EN10.113.5 already recognizes $$<TeX>$$ boxes 😉 4
Level 5* gazumped 12,222 Posted November 5 Author Level 5* Posted November 5 After a complete clean manual reinstall a couple of hours ago I now have the app back again, plus the release notes window duly populated; but I don't know why it was such an effort. This is a 2-year old 32GB desktop with a fast processor and SSDs! I see on social media that there are other experiences of this too... Hope there's an explanation somewhere down the line...

This was in the release notes but then suddenly removed for some reason. HW acceleration can be turned back on now in the settings. This will fix the responsiveness. 1 2

Level 5* gazumped 12,222 Posted November 5 Author Level 5* Posted November 5 I don't seem to be getting anywhere - can't find a support request I thought I sent earlier, and can't evern send a new one for some reason (see pic). Gave up and Xittered a certain product lead in the hope he can help... My report was - Quote As of about 1000 local time (it's 1600 now) I tried to update 10.113.5 to 10.114.2. I started the update process but when the app relaunched I got an ‘empty’ app window and an equally blank release notes window. I left the app for 10-15 minutes but there was no change. I restarted the desktop - no change. Tried to uninstall with Revo Uninstaller - Revo hung while trying to find remaining files. (Uninstall and registry clean was completed). Shortcuts and Calendar still seemed to work but no other menu item would load. I still had access via the web client. Reinstalled the app - no change. Fully uninstalled manually removing all files. Reinstalled - no apparent change, but I went out for 2 hours and found that my notes had populated. There was a note in the forums that hardware acceleration is back so activated that. Lost access to my notes again. Evernote Calendar is not showing some events I saved for later this month. The web client no longer loads. What is going on? I reported all this a couple of hours ago, but received no acknowledgement and there's no apparent record of my report. I've lost most of a day on this so far, and I see from the forums and social media that others are in the same boat. I am already logged when En opens but I can't log out. Have removed several times and re-installed still nothing and I can't find where I can get a copy of 10.113.4 to go back to so that I can actually do work instead of just trying to get EN to work. 10.113.4 continues to work fine on my other computers (which I am not upgrading until I find out what the heck is going on. And I tried EN web and having the same problem. What the heck? Any Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You might find that another computer has the older version 113.4 installation file saved somewhere - you could try that on the affected device. AlbertR 784 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Sorry - have to take back my first impression that HW acceleration solves the problem 😡 Today both (Win-APP and Web-APP) 114.2 show ugly latencies. Even with notes that have been visible some seconds before. Next try often shows white pages with gray stripes 😤. Now I reverted to 113.5 on my desktop and ignore "Evernote ist bereit für ein Update!" for the next time 😉

It required another clean reinstall - a record fourth in this particular case; and I had to reset some preferences like side list headings. I also re-engaged hardware acceleration... we'll see whether that has any effect during the day. If I get any more information about what happened I'll post here. Hopefully when everyone gets their confidence back you'll find updates go through normally, but if things go badly - check out my slightly amended (in light of recent events) 'clean reinstall' post. 1

About QA: I thought on the last (smooth) updates they finally got something like a QA in place. I (ambitiously) tried to open my web client too in Thorium (Chrome) - the account framework opened up but otherwise I got a blank screen. Tried Vivaldi (also Chrome) same. Tried a Thorium private window - which worked! Had to reset some prefs again, but had all my notes. Logged out in good order and re-tried a standard window... nope, still blank. My installed account is still re-loading though. I'll leave the Thorium window open. The excitement continues...

There seems to be a general fix in the works, but individual issues will get individual attention for the time being...

I got my fix in 24 hours - and Support react much more quickly when an update fails for any reason than when you have trouble saving a photo...

I've had success in the past just deleting the EN data so it might be worth trying that first before resorting to clearing your entire cache, which may well have consequences for other websites. In Chrome, when on EN Web, click on the icon to the left of the url. Click on Cookies and Site data and then delete everything there. You wil be asked to reload and you will need to sign in again. 3

They are saying the issue affects large accounts.

Does that include removing the actual database? I think mine is upwards of 10 GB (abt 45,000 notes in my primary notebook). I shudder to think what the resyncing process would look like.

Thanks, that's comforting to hear! Could you please comment a bit on what you did re the "full reinstallation" Evernote is recommending? I have had a Support response saying my account was reindexed, whatever that means, but they are still saying I should follow their full reinstallation instructions. Would moving aside all the files under %AppData%\Evernote be appropriate?

Uninstall Evernote Then a uninstaller for Evernote (a bit useless) Go into Roaming %AppData% delete all Evernote stuff , Reinstall Evernote . Worked for me (PC Windows 11) Took ages I have been with Evernote since 2012 and had to delete 400,000 files in %AppData% . But worked .

Just exits. Have tried repeatedly. Anyone encountered this behaviour? At least I can now get at my notes on the web following their reindexing of my account.

I think they could have been much more specific.
