fredhammersmith 59 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Oh oh? What happened to Evernote's ability to create public links to our notes, one of the software's most amazing features? Since the latest update, the link no longer leads to a public page, but rather to a page in the Evernote client on Chrome, and to the wrong page at that. I'm using version 10.110.5.
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,075 Posted October 16 Evernote Expert Posted October 16 Evernote share is moving to a single click sharing option. Click the ble 'Share note' button and the public link is copied to your computer memory. You can then paste it into, say, an Email to share. The feature is rolling out along with a supporting browser viewer which can be for for a non-subscriber to edit the document if you give edit rights even if they don't have an Evernote account. It is possible that you haven't, yet, got the new feature which, I think, requires v 10.111.* and is available for download for anyone anxious to to move up immediately.
fredhammersmith 59 Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 Interestingly, I was getting bad links until... 5 minutes ago... Not sure what was happening. Suddenly, the new public links are working. Very interesting feature but I'll continue to test the provided links...
fredhammersmith 59 Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 Sorry, it just happened again. SETPS: I created a note, I copied the public link I inserted it into a 2nd note. When I click the link in the 2nd note: a random note appear. I load the 2nd note again, re-click on the link: another random note. Something is wrong.
fredhammersmith 59 Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 V10.113.5 (Windows). Public links inserted in an attachment don' t work. I created an Excel file. I inserted a public link to one of my Evernote notes. When I click the link, it opens Evernote web client, but not on the linked note. The same link, inserted in another note in the Windows client, works.
