8. backward compatibility

Evernote is not backward compatible. Images in old notes can often no longer be displayed, but still take up storage space

Evernote ist nicht abwärtskompatibel. Bilder in alten Notizen sind of nicht mehr anzeigbar, belegen aber trotzdem Speicherplatz

External Picture means the content was linked, not attached.

Links break way easier than attachments, because they are stored outside of the apps own database. As examples: When the external file is moved or the name of the location changed, the link breaks.

So sorry, this can’t be attributed to EN. Only stored content (as attachment) should be there, no matter if old or new note.
