Lowes vs Lowe's

calbloke

Idea

I stored a documents with "Lowe's" (i.e. with an apostrophe) and when I searched for Lowes it doesn't find it.  I tested it on web and ios so it's not platform related.

I tried the same test on gmail & google docs and it finds "Lowe's" when I search with "Lowes".  I think Evernote should perform the search in the same way google does but I am open to hearing other opinions.

I don’t think any other software needs to search „as Goggle does“. It’s a company, not a standard.

BTW it makes it’s living by violating the privacy of every human being getting into its reach. But that’s another story.

According to the documentation (https://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/search_grammar.php) punctuation is used ot split the text into words. If that includes an apostrophe then it will split Lowe's into Lowe s. Does a search on Lowe work?

Try "Lowe s" with the quotes.

"Lowe" does work.  Ideally, I'd like it to work like google as they are the standard for search but I understand from your link that a decision was made.

Thanks for the followup!
