Are you a "Me Too" of @PinkElephant's attacks and mocking? Better Moderation Required.

Dear Evernote Team, I would like to request for additional clarity about your enforcement of Forum Code of Conduct.

Today, this @PinkElephant user has repeatedly mocked, attacked and harassed me about my post seeking help from other users.

The posts by this user are unruly, disparaging and in clear violation of several rules as established. I am not sure if I am the only victim of their harassment at this point, but in my years of using Evernote, and based on my observations, no one else consistently posts toxic messages like this towards others.

Could you look into this situation, please?

Thanks for the implied insult to moderators.  You seem to be giving as good as you got so far - a little extra research would have led you to the frequent comment here"we're mainly other users" as am I.  The three-dots menu to the top right of your post will include a "report" option which does go to the Forum Admins.  The way to avoid conflict here is to ask nicely,  and to ignore salty responses.  We're all -allegedly- grown-ups with our own issues and any help you receive is out of the kindness of others.  As someone commented in your other thread...

In the spirit of helping each other in this community, lets focus on addressing the issue thanks.

I fully endorse this request.

BTW How is level 5 reached?

By quality or by insults in off topic posts

There are several.  Look for the shield to the right of the user name and hover over it.

We moderate pretty lightly. For the most part, everyone behaves themselves. Occasionally, we may reach out by DM, and only very rarely is someone removed.  As a reminder, if there is a poster you don't like, you are welcome to ignore them.  That is the best approach.

Hover over the username, and you will see the ignore button on the bottom right.

Hey @gazumped I personally don't think it is appropriate to have a thread on this forum that targets a specific user. I believe this goes against the forum code of conduct and in my opinion this thread should be removed from the forum. Regardless of opinion on PE, he doesn't deserve a thread of this nature about him.

Maybe we should have made that decision after the first post, but at this point, I think there is enough other information to justify keeping it around.  On the scale of offensiveness, this one is pretty minor.  PE doesn't strike me as the type who is losing any sleep over this thread.  He has been known to dish it out pretty well himself.

Fair enough, it just bothers me to see a post about another user. Even with the other information it is in poor taste and shouldn't be on the forum. It just sets a bad precedent.

Sitting in my bed, sleepless …. 🥴

🤣

But in general I agree it is a violation of the code of conduct, and not much else. It adds nothing to the potential help users may find coming here.

Yeah, @s2sailor just whack this post. It's against the rules and allowing a violation that targets another user just opens things up for future such violations.

So, you want this thread deleted, but not the posts that led up to the creation of this thread?  This thread is about moderation and I think there is some useful information here, especially about the use of the ignore button.  If you want to discuss this further, please use dm, but I would suggest moving on.

Just to resurrect this I want to make clear... the rules should be enforced evenly. No one should be rude and nasty, and no one should have a hate thread made about them. Both are completely unacceptable and not conducive to a healthy community. The fact that neither are being enforced is completely unacceptable.

Wow - how did I miss out on this party until now?  Please can everyone just ignore pointless personal attacks and deal with raising or suggesting fixes for technical issues?

If you dislike comments from another user,  you can report them or ignore them - reacting just continues the agression.  I answered the OP 4 months ago.  That should be the end of it.

I told @s2sailor to whack this thread weeks ago and was basically told to suck it up. @gazumped clearly you're the only moderator who cares about moderating. @PinkElephant cannot be allowed to be disrespectful anymore and threads like this cannot be allowed to exist. I don't care if I have to go to Bending Spoons myself to get this forum cleaned up but this is messed up.

I guess my suggestion to move on fell on deaf ears.  I didn’t tell you to suck it up.  I just didn’t do what you wanted.  I explained why I left the thread.  Get over it.  Feel free to report me or this thread.

I see no reason for this thread to continue. Keep forum posts on topic, which is Evernote.
